What is the GILA?

The Geneva International Legal Association (GILA) is a growing and dynamic initiative bringing together diverse perspectives from across the legal and business sectors in Geneva and beyond. Launched in 2024 at the initiative of the Geneva Bar Association, GILA serves as a bridge between the legal profession and Geneva’s economic ecosystem (see press release here).

GILA aims to enhance Geneva’s position as a go-to international hub for law and legal services by focusing on three key objectives:

Promoting and enhancing Geneva as a leading centre for world-class legal services.
Building the profile of Swiss law in international business and dispute resolution.
Raising awareness of the legal sector’s critical contribution to social development and economic competitiveness.

How can I join the GILA?

The GILA welcomes individuals and organizations from around the globe to contribute to and benefit from our vibrant legal community. You can engage with GILA in two distinct ways: as a Member or as an Affiliate. More details are available on our Join Us page.

How can I become a GILA member? What are the benefits?

GILA membership is ideal for individuals or organizations seeking an active and impactful role in the association. Members have voting rights at the General Assembly, enabling them to shape the future of GILA.

Members also receive to complimentary conference tickets, discounts on GILA events and additional networking opportunities.

How can I use my GILA member conference pass?

You can use your member conference pass simply by sending an email to gilw2026@kuonitumlare.com.

How can I become a GILA affiliate? What are the benefits?

GILA Affiliates enjoy valuable networking and professional development opportunities without the commitment of full membership. Affiliates do not have voting rights in the GILA’s assembly but are integral to GILA’s broader community.
